Rich Templet Kills Himself in Portland Last Week!

I saw him in Kells Irish pub in February. There is a cigar room in the basment there. He was puffing away, as I was...I looked over at him and his new girl friend. We looked at each other...It had been over 7 years....so another person in my JW pass shows up.
Wow! I think since he is smoking, he is got to be out too....WRONG he tells me how bad he feels for leaving the JW's and he wants his new girl friend to start " A Home Bible Study" with you know who.
"Are you nuts" I say "Yes" he says he "KNOWS he can't live up to their standards but he can't live in the "World" either.
So I see one more person living in JW "Hell" He can't live in their Hell or the real world either....I quess their was only one thing left to do....and he did it...He choose death over pain!
I been off the board for over 6 months, I come back to find that Simon wants to shut this board down!
A borard that has saved 100's of people lives!......Real lifes.....real people.....
And why?
He too is choosing DEATH OVER PAIN....
It is a major "pain" in the ass to run this board.
Simon what is ONE persons life worth?
Simon thank you for starting this board....And if you don't want mess with it anymore...find and God bless....But is your ego so big, that you think no one else on this planet has the ability to run this board as good as you?..I'm glad your life is good now...So why not let other people get to were you are at now, my friend!

What Was The Silliest "Offense" That You Were Counseled For?
by minimus inwhen i was a teenager, i was told by an elder that because i smiled a lot and was known for my good sense of humor, that i should come across as "more serious".
so before i was appointed a ms, while in my late teens, i transformed myself into a much more "serious" brother.. were you ever told that you needed to work on something that you knew was stoopid?.

If the question is counseled then...
At bethel we were hauled in because we forgot to wash the dishes in our room. Then there is my "bull fighting poster" story about Curtis Johnson that you can read on "My Bethel Experinces" thread.
When I was at bethel, only blacks and real dark latinos could have a moustache only one white guy out of 2,000 bethelites had one, his name was Greg Strugger. The reason he had one, is he had a hair lip so they made and exception for him. Everyone else got "Counseled" if they tried to grow one.
My friend was "counseled" for puting too much butter on his bread.
Gary Kennedy was counseled at Bethel for owning a pair of "bell bottom" pants.
In the 1970's no one at Bethel was allowed to wear "Blue Jeans" (around the Bethel home) Knorr thought only gay guys did that.
Now if your talking about comittee meetings then.
The time they hauled me in the back room for "clicking" glasses together at a wedding and saying "We shouldn't toast?"
Then a mouth before I left, a young sister Heather W who was f....ing half the circuit, turned me in for saying the F word... Nothing happened to her for doing it....I got in shit for just saying it!

by oompa ini can not describe the sadness of hearing him tell me, i asked him to think about what a great part time job he has, with free schooling.
he says they will probably take him back.
his abilities are suitable for closing down brooklyn, so at least he will be there (i love nyc).

Just an introduction

my story is not uncommon, just the usual "skinned and thrown about like sheep without a shepherd".
the many different viewpoints have helped me sort things out in my own mind and gone a long way toward the healing of my heart.. just wanted to introduce myself and express my appreciation for this site.. ataloa.

There is no law that can prevent a parent the ability to teach their children ANY religion.The parents can't loose custody just because they are teaching them to become Witness.
Last weekend his kids came over to his home. They had a easter egg hunt...they didn't really want to do it but did anyway. They took all the eggs, candy and baskets home with them. The next morning all the eggs, baskets (no candy) were sitting on his front door step.

Yes, there is all way two sides to every story...
I have meet "Bob" and talked to him many times he seems like a very nice man.
What was his marriage was like? I have no idea...
The story is not about the marriage but about the brain washing his daughters are getting from "Tom" and his exwife.
The man comes to my home with tears in his eyes asking me about what he can do to stop the the brain washing!
